REVIEW + SWATCHES Too Faced Semi Sweet Chocolate Bar palette ♡

Wednesday, November 18, 2015

Hi everyone!

Yay, I've finally finished my end of year/final exams and now I have more time on my hands to do blogposts!

I'm starting off with my Too Faced Semi Sweet Chocolate Bar palette, which is the second chocolate palette, not the original. This post will include swatches, my person thoughts on the palette, pricing and my recommendations! Keep reading if you wish :) ......

SO! I will start off by saying that the smell is to die for!! Its infused with cocoa powder so it literally smells like chocolate! Its so gorgeous omg. Too Faced is the most GORGEOUS brand ever, and their packaging gets me every single time when I browse online, walk into Mecca here in Australia, or when I see they're bringing out new products! I own the Born This Way foundation by them, this chocolate bar palette, and also the limited edition Le Grand Chateau pack by Too Faced, and I love absolutely everyone of those products!

This palette has a range of different eyeshadows, and its quite universal in my opinion. I think you can create such diverse looks with all of the colours - matte, satin and shimmer - such as everyday looks with the neutral shades, smokey night time looks with the darker shades, or even jump out of your comfort zone and add a pop of colour such as Blueberry Swirl!! Majority of the shades are pigmented and buttery, which makes it very easy to pack onto your lid or blend out! Even when you feel the colours in the pan with your finger, it honestly feels like you're feeling a marshmallow; they are just so soft!

Overview of each shadow (refer to swatches down below, and sorry if you can't see some shades or the lighting is bad, I have very fair skin haha!)

Licorice - a very dark black that is matte, super easy to blend and very pigmented!

Coconut Creme - a pure vanilla shade that is matte. Pigmented, but doesn't show up on my pale skin in the swatches sorry :)

Nougat - a taupe purpley shade with a matte finish. Not as pigmented, however very blendable

Truffled - a matte warm brown. Comes off a lot lighter when applied to the skin, and very bendable and pigmented!

Hot Fudge - in the pan, it is a dark brown with purpley-pink reflects amongst it, blendable, pigmented, however when applied, it looks almost black!

Cocoa Chili - a warm brown with a shimmer finish, as it has gold reflects amongst it. very pigmented and blendable

Pink Sugar - in the pan, it looks like a pastel pink with pink and purple shimmers in it, however when applied to MY skin it applies as almost a loose glitter, instead of an actual buttery eyeshadow. I can't see any pink, just some shimmers/glitters. I am very pale though, haha, so it doesn't come up as pigmented

Puddin' - very similar to Truffled, with the same texture, however just a little bit warmer of a brown

Blueberry Swirl - a blue shimmery shade in the pan, that looks very glittery and pigmented. When it is applied to the skin, it looks more of a satin/matte finish, and you only see the glitter when you turn or flutter your eyes haha

Peanut Butter - EXTREMELY PIGMENTED neutral earth-tone orange/brown that is the perfect crease shade or base for your life. So buttery and is matte

Frosting - shimmery warm brown that looks gold in the pan, and shows gold reflects when packed onto the skin. gorgeous!

Rum Raisin - Looks like a plum colour in the pan, however when applied, is a satin finish with reflects that show through in the light

Mousse - matte chocolate brown is the perfect way to describe it! Looks like a block of chocolate! Matte finish and super buttery like all of the others!!

Caramel - SO.DAMN.PIGMENTED, I love this shade the most, its a gorgeous pure gold-brown. Perfect lid shade, looks almost like a pigment!!Shimmery finish and so buttery and soft. I love it

Bon Bon - VERY pigmented, so impressed! Lighter than caramel with more of a champagne tinge

Butter Pecan - Shimmery gold-beige colour. Would be a gorgeous highlight, however not as pigmented as I thought.

hope this helped you all :) remember to leave questions or requests down below, or on my Instagram - @thebeautylabaus
