My Essential OILS! ♡

Sunday, February 07, 2016

Hi everyone! Hope your first week of February has been treating you well.

Today I want to blog about the importance of oils in anyones skincare routine! They have a lot of benefits and can help your skin in many ways. Personally, I think there should be 3 main oils that people should own- firming oil, repair oil, and hydrating oil.

I personally don't use these oils together every single night, and I also don't apply oil consecutively through the week. Just a few times a week depending on what my skin is looking like, I will apply the oil that is best needed.

If my skin is looking rather dry and dehydrated, I will use the Antipodes H20 Intensive Skin Plumping Serum. When applied, I feel like this oil acts fast and seeps into my thirsty skin and makes it hydrated once again. It also makes my skin feel so soft! This oil is said to protect your skin to potential damage caused my environmental aggressors. It includes extracts of Mamaku Black Fern to help with cell renewal which plumps the skin and gives a youthful glow!

When my skin is looking a little dull and feels like it needs some extra TLC I will apply the Algologie Algae Maceration, which is essentially a firming oil. After I cleanse and moisturise, I finish off my skincare routine by patting and gently pushing the oil into my skin. Again, it makes it feel so smooth and refreshed, and when applied around the areas where my pores are most noticeable, I notice the following morning that they are smaller! Algae has been found to be very beneficial for the skin, and replaces all of our natural oils and vitamins lost when we cleanse.

And finally, when I have had a rough week of blemishes and I need to repair my skin and make sure to treat it well to eventually remove any spots, scares and pigmentation, I apply Rosehip oil. I absolutely HATE the smell of this oil, I'll be the first to admit, but I do believe that it benefits my skin a lot and it evens out my skintone, takes away redness, and helps in reducing any spots on my face. I love how it makes my skin look! The ingredients in this oil is also extremely advantageous for anti-ageing, sun damaged skin and it also helps to improve wrinkles, burns and stretch marks. Its also very hydrating for the skin with all of the advantageous acids in it!

I hope you guys have learnt something from this post today, and understand the importance of oil for your skin! If you aren't already using some form of oils during your week, then I highly recommend doing your research and perhaps investing in some. You won't regret it, and you skin will be thanking you! :)

xoxo
