PINCH AND A PUNCH FOR THE FIRST DAY OF THE MONTH!! 🙊😂
I cannot believe its November already! This week's blogpost is a review of the Naked 3 palette by Urban Decay...
This palette isn't completely new, and isn't a recent release from Urban Decay, however its very popular and is still available to purchase on websites such as Sephora and Mecca Maxima/Cosmetica.
As I've mentioned before, I think purchasing expensive and high-end makeup is a 'risk', and its very important to do your research before purchasing to see if you fancy the product, and if you're getting your money's worth. That is where my blog comes in to the mix! The Beauty Lab blog is for everyone to come and read about products and reviews if they are curious about purchasing something in particular, or wondering what other's thoughts are on the specific product.
I bought the Naked 3 palette from Mecca Maxima for $81.00 AUD. That is pretty expensive for a palette if you ask me! So I am going to review this for your benefit, and then you can decide if you would like to purchase, or ask me any more questions in the comments section! :)
☆ There are a total of 12 shades in the palette, and although thats a big number, the shades are very similar and are also from a similar colour palette.
☆ There is a mix of matte, satin and shimmer shades, of which all are BEAUTIFUL. I have used this palette for an everyday look, using Strange in the inner corner and on the brow bone, Trick on the lid, and Nooner in the crease. I've also used it for several dramatic looks for nights out, clubbing, date nights or events.
☆ All colours are VERY pigmented, however you can pack the colours on if you want more intense looks
☆ Although there are different colours, and 12 shades at that, there isn't much colour in the pan for what you're paying for. In my personal opinion, $81.00 should get you a big palette, with all different colours and textures, that you can use universally... and I don't think that this palette is that unfortunately. For example, I only paid $4 more for the Lorac Mega Pro palette, and that includes 32 eyeshadows, the shades are in a square pan, and they're also just as pigmented as the Naked 3 colours are.

- Strange is a matte cream shade with a yellowy undertone. The texture isn't powdery, and its a pigmented light colour that would be perfect to set an eye primer for people with fair skin like me, a brow highlight or a simple inner corner highlight.
- Dust is a shimmery baby-pink colour that almost has a pink-pastel cool-toned undertone to it. Its pigmented, however not as pigmented as it looks, as you really have to build up the colour to get that pink shimmering effect.
- Burnout is again a cool-toned baby pink colour that almost looks like a pastel, however it has a satin finish. This shade is very pigmented and looks great under Dust as a base shade.
- Limit is a pink taupe colour, with a matte finish. This shade blends beauitfully, however its quite a muted shade.
- Buzz is also a pink taupe, however with a very shimmery finish. I found this colour to be extremely pigmented and doesn't have fallout or a powdery texture.
- Trick is a BEAUTIFUL pure gold shade with a shimmery finish in the pan. I find this to be different on all skin tones, and can sometimes come off as apricot or as a satin finish.
- Nooner is a very muted taupe purple shade with a matte finish. Again, its very bendable and pigmented. Its also very cool-toned
- Liar is from the same colour palette as Nooner as it is cool-toned also a taupe purple, however with a satin-shimmery finish. Likewise, I find this shade to come off completely different on all skin tones, regardless it is very gorgeous.
- Factory is also quite taupe and is definitely satin in the pan. It also has gold reflects to it, and is very pigmented when applied.
- Mugshot comes off as a champange/coppery colour with silver reflects amongst it, and is a pigmented shimmer shade in the palette.
- Darkside is a cool-toned grey with silver reflects to make it that perfect shimmer shade for a smokey eye. Blends great and comes off light in the palette, however is quite dark and very pigmented when applied.
- Blackheart is the last shade in the palette, and is a dark colour that is the epitome of plum in the palette, although when applied, its a midnight black. Tends to have gold reflects amongst it, and is very pigmented when applied! I think this shade is so pretty!
As you can see from the explanations and the swatches, the pigmentation does seem to differ with the palette, however when the shades are built up, they can become pigmented regardless. Also, the darker shades are very much more pigmented than the lighter ones,
I think the Naked 3 palette is very gorgeous, and if you already have a universal palette, however just want to expand your makeup ranges and explore cool-tones, then this palette is great if you're willing to pay $81.00. I don't regret my purchase, and I will continue to use this palette on a day-to-day basis!!
