HI MAKEUP LOVERS!!
We all wonder what our skin type is, and what foundation/base will best suit our complexion, right? WELL I have done some research and joined my personal experience to create this post about foundation formula being correct for your skin type. Whether you are oily, normal, combination or dry- there is a foundation out there for you. In this post, I will address all foundations that can be used for certain skin types - however the foundation that I have picked, are all high end.
Firstly, we will start off with combination skin- this is the most common skin type among women. Combination is when you are 'normal' in some parts, 'oily' in some parts, and may be 'dry' in others. Through my research, and personal experience as I have found that I have combination skin, is Nars Sheer Glow. This foundation really glides over your face and the formula seems to mattify in oily areas, and have a silky finish in the dry and normal areas. This foundation has also had a lot of hype over the past month.. and I can see why! Personally, this foundation is worth the money.
Secondly, oily skin is also quite common among women- especially girls going through puberty. I have found that a matte foundation is always the safest to apply to oily skin, paired with a neutralizing primer and a blot powder/mattifying finishing powder. A foundation that I have found to remain matte after MANY hours is the Estee Lauder Double Wear Foundation. This base has also had a lot of hype, especially from 'beauty gurus' on YouTube. This is definitely a high end product, and is quite expensive, however I know that being oily can be both embarrassing and difficult, as many have to go to school or work all day. SO, if you are desperate to hide that oil, and mattify your face with confidence, this base WILL last and you will have flawless coverage all day... Double Wear is worth it!
Thirdly, lets look at normal skin types. This is the type of skin we all wish we had! just perfect even skin tone that we can tame easily! Unfortunately that is not the case, however I have found a foundation to perfectly fit normal skin types - M.A.C Face and Body foundation. I have personally heard of this through the famous Nikkie Tutorials on YouTube, and every-time I see her wear it, she looks FLAWLESS!! I have heard from others though, that this foundation is quite thick and it clogs pores- so it will break you out more easily. Whilst everyone's skin doesn't react the exact same way, I still decided to add this in. There has been many good reviews about this, and it gives a flawless coverage. Plus... you can't go wrong with M.A.C!!
FINALLY we will finish with dry skin types. This is a difficult skin type to approach, as you have to be very careful when applying foundation to skin that is dry. If you irritate the skin even more, dry patches will appear and it will look inflamed and becoming extremely irritating! A foundation that has had a lot of good reviews for dry skin especially, is the Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk Foundation. This silky, flawless formula does not stick to dry patches, it covers dry skin well, it gives an even skin tone and it is great for sensitive skin as it doesn't irritate (again, everyone's skin reacts differently)! The price is also quite steep, however it is worth it if you are desperate to hide dry skin! Cheap foundation usually doesnt work for this skin type, so it is safer to be more confident with a high-end product.
Hope you guys enjoyed my FIRST OFFICIAL blog post and that it helped a lot for those wondering about complexion and skin types! :)
